Indie-pop trio, CAEZAR, shares most vulnerable song yet, with their new heartfelt ballad, ‘Take Me There’

CAEZAR has released numerous light-hearted and bouncy indie-synth tracks this year, but their final new music for 2018 sees them wearing their heart on their sleeve. Taken from their upcoming EP (‘HAIL!) set for release on the 30th of November via RG Records, ‘Take Me There’ is the first slow jam from this exciting trio.

The two founding members of CAEZAR, Chris Quigley and Rich Gills decided to take their passion for music to the next level when the pair found themselves both suffering from sports injuries that meant they would no longer be able to play rugby for their local club. It was under the lights of the rugby pitch where the two ex-players decided that they would take their previously hidden musical talents to the stage. When Zoe joined the band in 2017, the trio really found their niche. Her soft synths and sweet-as-honey backing vocals helped build on the unique crossover of pop, indie and rock elements that make up the band’s special sound.

Take Me There’ will end a stellar year for CAEZAR on a tender note. We’ve come to know them for their jams ‘Hold On’, ‘Somewhere New’ and ‘ Waiting’, so it feels refreshing seeing the group delve into new sounds. ‘Take Me There’ is a falsetto-infused duet that hits all the right notes for an indie-pop ballad, as this track truly shows the talent of their vocal delivery. A tender piano guides the listener throughout, only to be joined by guitars and more percussion towards the dramatic finale of the track. Tender, yet hopeful, ‘Take Me There’ is a solid finish for their EP, allowing CAEZAR to show the world that there’s nothing they can’t do.

If CAEZAR keeps up the steady momentum they had in 2018, then 2019 will be the year you’ll regret not listening to them sooner. Jump aboard the bandwagon and listen to ‘Take Me There’ below:

On ‘Take Me There‘, CAEZAR comments, “A recurring theme throughout this EP is ‘movement’. Whether it’s excitement, remorse or anticipation – Take Me There is the final expression of this movement – the longing for escape. It’s easy to become faded by the weight of day-to-day life, so we wanted to write about the inspiration and hope of striving for something better. The vocal samples and irregular dream beat provides a haunting melody which acts as the perfect crescendo for this journey and for this EP.”
