Mark Plati gives Amycanbe’s album ‘Grano’ a whole bunch of kick

Mark Plati has recently stepped up to the remix plate on Amycanbe’s ‘Grano (Flow Mix by Mark Plati).’ The track has been lifted from the dreampop quartet’s upcoming EP, White Slide, set for release on the 19th April via Open Productions.

Plati has worked with numerous big names as a musician, record producer, and songwriter. His credentials include work with David Bowie, Prince, The Cure, Moby, Fleetwood Mac, and Natalie Imbruglia. He also mixed Amycanbe’s 2011 album, Mountain Whales.

Grano’ is lifted from Amycanbe’s 2015 album Wolf and finds a new lease on life through Plati’s remix. Where the original track had a restrained approach, the uncurbed remix sets its sights on the dance floor, and will certainly find an audience amongst fans of electronic music. Plati leans towards the psychedelic end of the spectrum and delivers a kaleidoscopic sonic journey filled with lush synths and deep bass lines.

The band themselves hold the remix in high regard. “‘Grano’ is absolutely perfect; exactly how I imagined it. It has always been our favourite song from the Wolf album, and probably one of his favourites as well. He chose it for a remix (almost a re-work), which we would like to include here in this release – very nice, great fun!”
