Husband and wife indie duo Bora York have just had their latest track, ‘Colorado’ premiered via Clash Magazine. You can catch the premier here. The track is due to be released on the 12th of September and follows their previous single, ‘I Finally Let My Heart Grow Again’ released last month. While the previous track was most definitely a love song of note, here we see a lighter tone.
Chris Bartels shared with us a little bit about the origins of the track, “I spent a year in Denver when I was 20 and it still feels like a second home, even though it’s been a while since I lived there. I’m personifying Colorado in this song – it’s a metaphor for letting go of worry, living life to the fullest. “Now I’m breathing in slow motion” – this is about not letting meaningful moments pass you by without cherishing them, soaking them in.”
The couple currently have their hands full with three boys under the age of six and Chris Bartels has been open with the strain of taking the main role in writing producing the indie-pop music. They’ve told fans that he considered the idea of calling it quits on the Bora York project entirely. However, he allowed himself to breathe in slow motion and began to battle his own insecurities on the duos musical image.
