Drew Davies has just had his latest single, ‘Mrs Taylor’ premiered via Pure Grain Audio who said that, “Davies has put together an impressive track that shines a bright light on his striking vocal polish which emphasizes the track’s lyrical qualities”. You can read the full premiere here. The track will be officially released on 1st of November.
The single heralds Drew Davies upcoming EP (mixed by Steve Honest) via AD1. While there’s no indication of when the EP will be shared, we can’t help but hope that it will be before the New Year, to carry us into it in style.
The UK-based musician gives some insight into the personal nature of the track, “Mrs Taylor is a song about childhood. Growing up in the South Yorkshire countryside it wasn’t always easy to get around. My oldest friend’s mother Mrs Taylor used to ferry us around a lot and take care of us if we ever got into scrapes. When I learned of her passing I immediately started writing lyrics and music; ‘Mrs Taylor’ was written then and there as an ode to childhood and to those who took care of me in those formative years.”
