Besides announcing a new album, Talking To Strangers, which fans can expect to receive on the 28th of April, musician Marti West has thrown on his red sweater and shone the headlights at his latest single, a balladesque record titled ‘Somebody New’. In it, the sentimental musician distils the essence of heartbreak, a guitar acting as the flower bed where the buds of his self–expression take root.

Picking a rose, the musician has grown a record that unfurls with light and dark hues and a spattering of Marti’s distinct vocal colouration. Falling from Eden, so to speak, Marti West explores what it’s like to plummet from the high of love. “‘Somebody New’ is about coming to terms with a relationship that has broken down,” the songwriter shares.

The record follows his recently-released song ‘Nobody Knows Me (Like You)’ (read our feature on the single here), which saw support from the music magazine Notion Magazine, another name for the list of publications that have caught onto the London-based musician, which includes EARMILK and more. Adding to his accolades, BBC Radio 1 has aired his music on the Chillest Show, helping him bloom into the rising artist he is today.
