Esteemed British artist James Walsh releases heartfelt acoustic track ‘The Ghost In Me’

Renowned British singer-songwriter James Walsh, known for his formidable role as the frontman of the multi-million selling band Starsailor, released his latest track titled ‘The Ghost In Me’ on the 1st of September. The esteemed artist has collaborated with acts such as Eliza Doolittle, Melanie C, Suzanne Vega, and Professor Green,  with his group Starsailors ‘Love is Here’ and subsequent hit ‘Silence is Easy’ reaching to #2 on the UK charts, accumulating a staggering 3 million sales. He’s also appeared on lineups with the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Police, The Killers, and U2.

The Ghost In Me‘ is a beautifully soothing and meaningful track. Walsh’s acoustic guitar strumming is hypnotic, while his raw vocals take center stage. The lyrics are deep and heartfelt, focusing on the pain one’s lover tends to feel in their day-to-life, and the urge to relieve them of their sorrows. It’s a tribute to love and the search for respite in troubling times, and how often we find ourselves attempting to console those close to us, often to no avail.

Speaking about his new track, Walsh expressed, “‘The Ghost In Me’ is a plaintive acoustic song about those times in life when nothing works to comfort somebody no matter how hard you try but then the restorative power of a new day does the trick. It’s also about keeping your own melancholy at bay when you need to be there for someone else.  Sometimes new songs take a while to embed themselves into the live set but this one has found its place pretty quickly & has been really well received on its live outings.
