French musician Sélénite returns with his beautiful track ‘Sandboxes’, released on the 22nd of September 2023. With the support of Radio France and the Sud Ouest Journal, Mathieu Tamisier, also known as Sélénite, has deeply resonated with audiences in his native France and is now reaching far and wide across the globe. Over the past few years, he has graced the stage repeatedly, playing nearly 300 shows, with notable performances including sharing the spotlight at the Zenith de Pau with Feu! and captivating audiences at the Rock School Barbey in Bordeaux. In addition, his last single gained support from Music Crowns, About To Blow, iGuitar, Plastic Mag, and more.
‘Sandboxes’ is a superb piece of indie-folk music. Introspective, calm and melancholic, it was crafted alongside his album while Sélénite retreated into seclusion to a cabin in South West France. This process is evident, as the song feels natural and raw, an intimate artistic expression. Featuring delicate laid-back guitar arpeggios and gentle drumming and maracas, Sélénite’s raspy voice is resplendent and rife with emotion. There’s a gentle vulnerability that shines through in his work, making ‘Sandboxes’ a very pleasant and connective listening experience.
