American indie, alt-pop artist JD Eicher shares his fresh take on break-ups with his single ‘The Will To Live’, released on 23 August 2024. The track serves as an outlet for the freedom and relief that’s experienced after letting go of a toxic relationship. In ‘The Will To Live’, he creates a track that’s vulnerable, introspective and above all celebratory.
JD Eicher has become a compelling and influential voice in the industry, and has toured extensively across the USA and internationally. He’s been on lineups with the likes of Coldplay, Train, The Zombies as well as Sister Hazel. He also created the soundtrack for Nicholas Sparks’s 20th book, Two By Two.
While the single was written and produced by JD, he collaborated with members of his live band to add more vibrance. Dylan Kollat laid down the drums, Jim Merhaut was responsible for the groove-laden bassline, Shane Lance was on mixing duty and the track was mastered by Emerson Mancini.
Breakups are often portrayed as excruciatingly painful and heavy, but with this track JD highlights the joy and empowerment that comes from truly realising and embodying your self-worth. It’s an anthem about reclaiming your bliss and moving forward with strength. JD Eicher shares: “‘The Will To Live’ is an upbeat – almost celebratory – breakup song about getting out of a toxic relationship.”
Keep an eye out for more from JD Eicher, as ‘The Will To Live’ is the third single in a series of offerings that will result into a full-length album.
