Olympic snowboarder and indie folk singer-songwriter Pat Burgener joined forces with his brother Oddbox (Max Burgener) to create his latest single ‘Free’, released on 30 August via Oversey Records.
The single was written by both brothers, and produced by Oddbox who’s a guitarist and full-time producer based in London. So far, Oddbox has over 81K monthly listeners on Spotify and has collaborated with the likes of Saint Raymond and Jamillah Barry. Pat has four EP’s as well as a debut album under his belt, and boasts an impressive amount of 18 million streams across YouTube and Spotify.
After a snowboarding accident in 2014 Pat turned to music and he started working with Max. Pat’s had an impressive career in the last decade, as he toured the UK and Europe opening for acts like Matthew Mole and Sons of the East as well as performing at festivals like Paleo Festival in Switzerland.
‘Free’ is a warm, delicate offering that’s led by Pat’s soothing vocals and sincere lyrics. It illustrates how freedom is fundamental for all, not just a few and features elevated guitar riffs, a sunny melody with an enthralling rhythm.
Pat shared: “I believe true freedom is a fundamental right that all humans should be born with, yet in reality, it is often elusive. In a world where millions lack the freedom to shape their own destinies, I felt the need to write a song of hope about it. Every person deserves the opportunity to write their own story and build their life according to their own vision, regardless of their ethnicity, gender or background.”
