THE SILENT ROOM SHARES EUPHORIC SINGLE ‘YOU’LL NEVER KNOW’

UK-based composer and keyboardist Tim Oliver, has shifted directions with his artistic expression and now goes by The Silent Room as his solo moniker. On 6 September, he shared his debut single as The Silent Room titled ‘You’ll Never Know’ via his label Meddle. The track is a tantalising teaser for his upcoming EP Fluorescent which will be released later this year.

The EP includes notable collaborations with Jess Greenfield (Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds) and Owen Parker (Robbie Williams) to name a few. In his illustrious career, Tim has performed as a keyboard player, toured internationally and performed at festivals like Glastonbury. Tim draws inspiration from the likes of Pink Floyd, The 1975 and Peter Gabriel. With The Silent Room, he indulges in his love for hypnotising film soundtracks and layered album productions.

The single is a captivating journey into the depths of nostalgia. Ethereal synths weave around powerful drums and a carefully crafted arrangement of instruments, while Tim’s serene vocals, enriched with layers steal the show. This track exhibits The Silent Room’s masterful skill in composition and production while also highlighting his talent as a songwriter.

The Silent Room shared: “There’s a recurrent theme in this record of in-between spaces… to find yourself wandering the corridors of your inner life – a magical zone that’s sometimes euphoric and dreamlike, sometimes isolated and frustrating. Though the lyrics reflect regret and something that’s lost, in this space the music can transform it into hope and catharsis.”
