Swimming With Bears share a shimmering single and video, ‘Patient Disguise’

Texan indie rock band Swimming With Bears dropped their atmospheric new single, ‘Patient Disguise’, on March 29, 2024, via Swimming With Bears Music, accompanied by a striking music video. With over 5 million monthly streams across platforms, the four-piece has garnered support from Billboard and a live session on NPR Music. They’ve shared the stage with global heavyweights like Panic! At The Disco,   Weezer, Blue October, and Anthony Green of Circa Survive. Having collaborated with acclaimed producers such as Gabe Simon  (Dua Lipa), Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers), and Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift), they’ve honed their craft with some of the industry’s best. Their profound soundscape has resonated on the stage of  Bourbon and Beyond in Louisville, Kentucky, alongside legends like  Lenny Kravitz, Sting, Robert Plant, and John Mayer. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Amy Winehouse, and  Gorillaz, Swimming With Bears have carefully sculpted a sonic identity that pulses with passion and authenticity, speaking directly to the heart of every listener. Their music has also been compared to the sounds of rock royalty Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, Modest Mouse, and The Police.

‘Patient Disguise’, penned by the band and produced by Matt Noveskey, seamlessly intertwines pain and euphoria with Joe Perry’s raw, impassioned vocals, a magnetic bassline, and electrifying guitar riffs. The video, directed by Kevin C. McDermo, hauntingly captures Joe, enveloped by white-gloved hands—eerily symbolizing isolation and the desperate yearning for connection.

Swimming With Bears revealed: “Patient Disguise began as a demo track we recorded during the COVID lockdown on an old computer. After sitting on the shelf for a while, we pulled it up in the studio during a brainstorming session with our producer. The result is a fully mastered version that has become a standout song at live concerts. Its evolution reflects creativity and resilience, turning a moment of uncertainty into one of our most celebrated tracks.”
