Tommy Down Returns with Soulful New Single ‘Do You Want It All?’

London-based multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Tommy Down has released his latest single, ‘Do You Want It All?’, via Declo Grey on February 28. Premiered by CLASH Magazine, the track blends dreamy soul with reverb-soaked psychedelia, drawing inspiration from Mazzy Star, Radiohead, and Jeff Buckley. Known for his smooth yet emotive vocals, Tommy has collaborated with Grammy-nominated producers and earned millions of streams with his breakout hit ‘Mrs. Blue’. His music has also been featured in multiple episodes of HBO’s Industry, co-created by his brother, Mickey Down

Tommy’s musical journey began at fourteen, rooted in jazz, rock, and soul, with deep ties to his UK-Ghanaian heritage. A former member of Bristol jazz band BUJO, he later returned to London to craft his own sound, releasing 21st Century Living in 2020. His style, influenced by legends like Marvin Gaye, Blur, and Michael Kiwanuka, has evolved into a fusion of psychedelic rock and soul. Now taking full creative control, Tommy’s upcoming 2025 EP promises an eclectic mix inspired by Radiohead and Mitski, showcasing his depth as both a performer and producer.

‘Do You Want It All?’ captures an existential yearning, weaving airy guitars and ethereal reverb with deeply introspective lyrics. “The song draws from Radiohead’s ‘Creep’, but with a shoegaze twist,” Tommy shares. “It’s about maintaining your soul and morals while chasing worldly success.” Even referencing Bob Marley’s wisdom, “Live for yourself and live in vain, but live for others and you will live again”, the track invites listeners to reflect from a higher perspective. Tommy Down continues to carve his path in the modern music scene, delivering songs that are both sonically rich and soulfully profound.
