Self-aware 90’s-infused indie-pop from UK rising star Fauness: ‘Sixteen’

London-based rising-star Fauness has just shared her latest single, an anthemic indie-pop offering with a delectably rebellious edge: ‘Sixteen’. The track is just a taste of what’s to come on the newcomer’s upcoming ‘Toxic Femininity’ EP, which is slated for released on Jam City’s new label Earthly Records.

The track is wonderfully self-reflective ode to oneself as a young woman. The RnB influences ooze through Fauness‘ confident delivery, and the message that this young and talented musician pushes forward is one that is truly relatable and that needs to be voiced.

Fauness explains, “Ageing is usually presented as a tragic process to be fought at all costs, a phase when we become uglier, unhappier and increasingly invisible,” which she deals with in her infectious new single.
