Lunar & The Deception have dropped their new single ‘Your Monsters’ today via X-Ray Sound, the first taste of their upcoming album The Somnambulist, set for March 6, 2026. Co-produced with Michael Rendall whose credits include The Orb, Peter Murphy, and Killing Joke, the track arrives as the London-based band’s live momentum keeps building. They’ve shared stages with Pussy Riot at Glastonbury Festival, torn through London venues, and turned heads at the 2022 Sync Summit Music Conference.
At the core is vocalist Britt Xyra Dusk, a South African-raised, London-based songwriter and costume designer whose activism and commanding stage presence define the band’s identity. She shapes their visual world around ancient deities, seers, and tribal warriors. Drummer Hedge Seel, brought up near Oxfordshire’s Rollright Stones, broadened his percussive palette through extended travels in Southeast Asia and India. Rounding out the lineup are dub producer Thomas Hammond and sound engineer Greg Chapter, giving the project a seasoned, textured edge.
‘Your Monsters’ begins with cascading piano keys laid over a restrained bass pulse, Britt’s smoky vocals establishing an immediate sense of coiled tension. Guitars enter with swirling, neo-psychedelic distortion that carries the weight of classic goth-rock drama. Frequent shifts between major and minor tonalities keep the harmonic tension alive, anchored by Hedge Seel’s precise, dynamic drumming. The chorus breaks open into a full-throated anthem, classical-leaning piano lines colliding with thick guitar drive. Toward the close, strings and brass rise in layered intensity alongside soaring leads and ethereal vocal stacks, before everything strips back to drifting vocal fragments.
The band shared: “‘Your Monsters’ is a song that captures the raw tenderness of love while confronting the darker forces that surface when two people collide. It lays bare the beauty and brutality of relationships where affection and destruction exist side by side. When passion gives way to conflict.”
