Pinwheel Valley’s latest single ‘Someway’, released today, August 29, 2025, via Hot Soap Records, marks another milestone for the indie outfit. Following their track ‘Werewolf’, which landed a premiere in METAL Magazine and airplay on RTÉ 2FM, RTÉ 2XM, and NPR Music, the band has amassed over 2 million streams and earned praise from CLASH Magazine, NOTION, Earmilk, and Billboard Argentina, alongside spins on BBC Radio London and BBC Radio Sheffield. Led by Jordanian-Canadian frontman Qais Khoury, a singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, the project—once known as KAIS—melds indie soul, alt-rock, and folktronica, drawing from Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, James Blake, and Radiohead. Live, Qais is joined by Stephanos Marangos on guitars, Max Daniels on bass and Ableton, and drummers Stephanos Meletiou or Phrangiskos Petrisis. Qais’s path, from penning songs at 13 to studying at Point Blank Music School in London, reflects a life shaped by his father’s Sinatra and Elton John covers and homes in Amman, London, Vancouver, and now Cyprus, where he operates Hot Soap Studios Ltd.
‘Someway’ leans into indie folk with delicate acoustic chords, ambient washes, and understated percussion, all cradling Qais Khoury’s evocative vocals. Written and produced by Qais, the track’s timeless quality carries lyrics that seek connection in a disconnected age, resonating with fans of Father John Misty, Jeff Buckley, and Nick Murphy.
Qais Khoury had this to say: “I wrote ‘Someway’ as a tender plea, woven with threads of hope and longing. It reflects the ache of separation (be it physical, emotional, or spiritual) and the deep yearning for reconnection. In an age defined by instant, hypermodern communication, I found myself gazing out to sea, inspired by a bygone era when messages in bottles carried words of love across vast, uncertain distances. The song captures that sense of remoteness, and the fragility of faith in a bond that may still endure. In this light, the refrain “know I’ll find it someway” becomes an unyielding anchor of hope.”
