RIP X and Dare Mark Ripsime’s Rebirth in Sound, Spirit, and Self

British-Armenian artist Ripsime closes a transformative year with RIP X, a bold new EP that bridges her early catalog with her evolving sound. Out November 14th via her newly founded RIP Records, the release arrives after a prolific period defined by her acclaimed singles ‘Shamanic Faith’ and ‘Paradise’ from the Capsule II era. The project marks a new chapter for Ripsime as she reclaims her creative archive, expands her multidisciplinary practice, and introduces a collection of re-releases alongside a striking new single, ‘Dare’. Having built her career through self-directed artistry, from production to visual design, Ripsime’s new venture positions her not only as a musician but as a visionary architect of her own world.

Working between London and Yerevan, Ripsime continues to blur the boundaries between art, identity, and sound. Her work embodies a rare duality, a spiritual yet modern, instinctive yet intricately crafted. Drawing from influences as varied as Talking Heads, The Cure, and Kate Bush, she fuses alternative pop, electronic textures, and cinematic rock into a style that feels simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic. Her creative ethos is grounded in community and independence, carving space for new voices while honoring her cultural roots. For Ripsime, Armenia’s ancient beauty and energy have become a wellspring of inspiration, infusing her work with a sense of belonging and purpose.

Leading RIP X is ‘Dare’, an electrifying track co-written with The Psalms in Los Angeles. Layering shimmering synths, punchy guitars, and Ripsime’s soaring, expressive vocals, the song captures both defiance and freedom, a celebration of risk-taking and creative reinvention. Surrounding it are reimagined versions of early songs like ‘I’ll Understand’ and ‘Colors of Your Eyes’, each recontextualized through a mature, modern lens. Accompanying the release is a limited-edition art print, designed and hand-finished by Ripsime herself, offering a tactile bridge between her sonic and visual worlds.

“It’s been a long time coming…everything I’ve done, from the art to the music, has been self-made,’ Ripsime shares. ‘I wanted a little space, a container for that, so that eventually I can support artists and friends I love. Building community and creating space is so important for me, but for now, I’m the guinea pig.”
