Seth Tabatznik released the single ‘Watching Over Me’ on 29 October 2026 through Moth Music (Mother Of The Heart). The track forms one of a series of monthly singles that lead into his third album. Raised in London and now based in the Western Cape mountains of South Africa, Tabatznik started recording in 2024 and has already passed 600,000 streams on Spotify. His sophomore album Awakening Embers, out earlier this year, received coverage from NOTION Magazine, CLASH Magazine and EARMILK, while electronic producer Deep Forest supplied a remix of ‘Shining For Love’. Sold-out performances at Boschendal Estate in Cape Town and Green Note in London’s Camden have marked his live work to date. Mentorship from Nick Mulvey shaped sessions for Awakening Embers, and earlier guidance from guitar teacher Rainer Scheurenbrand supports an approach rooted in acoustic folk and medicine music. The material holds a regard for the earth, pairing soulful harmonies and heartfelt lyrics with an authenticity that joins older traditions to present recording methods through guidance, lived experience and spiritual exploration.

‘Watching Over Me’ opens with reserved acoustic guitar plucks set under sombre pedal steel as Seth Tabatznik’s contemplative vocal enters. The chorus turns slightly more upbeat once tasteful acoustic percussion arrives and a female vocalist joins for the duet. The arrangement continues to gather, reaching a final chorus that expands into washed-out guitars and delicate acoustic textures. At nearly six minutes the piece stays light on its feet, a heartfelt power ballad that sits with listeners of Passenger, Cigarettes After Sex and Gregory Alan Isakov.

Speaking on the single Seth shared, “‘Watching Over Me’ is a love song to an oak tree. It’s about loving someone but never making the time for them. You think about them and they’re part of your day dreams, but in reality the time spent together lives in the future.”
