A musical chameleon, Cristina Soto has a diverse background in terms of genre conventions and training. She has now announced an acoustic album titled Wooden Renderings. Previously releasing tracks with electronic artists like Au5 and Tritonal via Gravitas Recordings, she revisits these tracks on her latest album, breathing a stripped-back flair into them. Today, we present the featured album track ‘Keeper’. Almost unrecognizable, the original melodic bass banger with Amidy had us feeling like we are invincible and can take on the world. Cristina Soto takes a charmingly rustic approach with her acoustic version, reminding one of the compellingly softer alternative acts of the late ‘90s and early 2000s. Cristina Soto carries the track with panache with her voice alone.
Cristina Soto shares: “Thank you for listening to Wooden Renderings. As with most things dear, this album took longer than planned. Each song was studied, disassembled, and reimagined… for me, but also for you. I hope you are taken somewhere familiar, yet new.”
