Award-winning Indie pop duo practice self-therapy with new song ‘The Paper’

Renowned indie-pop pairing Leyya have shared refreshingly honest track ‘The Paper’ and it is sure to generate smiles, from how relatable it is to the carefree energy that beams from this track. ‘The Paper’ is their latest offering as a duo since the release of their album Sauna in 2018.

The duo consists of Sophie Lindinger and Marco Kleebauer, who have for the past two years both achieved their fair share of success independently. Marco received the prestigious Amadeus Award and Sophie’s multiple award-winning band My Ugly Clementine featured on Spotify’s worldwide “Radar” campaign.

Sophie Lindinger shares: “As a musician, one often has the feeling of needing to ‘sell oneself’, of creating something just to fit in and fulfill someone’s expectations. With this song we realized we do all this for ourselves in the first place. It’s purely driven by our passion to create music. We went back to the origins of just writing and playing a song, not making a big production out of it and reducing all of it to the minimum. We see this piece as a form of therapy to reassure ourselves why we do all of this – and it’s not the money.”
