Canadian indie-electro duo HUMANS have just released their thrilling brand new LP, Going Late on 16th November via Haven Sounds. Following a few singles the band had premiered ahead of the album’s release, the first ‘Still About You’ has met critical acclaim, receiving extensive radio support and is currently sitting at #5 on CBC Radio 3. The band then released ‘Going Late’, and ‘Breakfast With Liz’ – which received an award for Best Music Video at the Leo Awards 2018.
Having received vast support from the likes of COMPLEX, CLASH Magazine, Resident Advisor, XLR8R, Earmilk, Magnetic Mag and more, Humans have captured the hearts of many, furthering their dizzying, infectious sound and appearing at acclaimed festivals including SXSW, Coachella, The Great Escape, CMJ, Mad Decent Block Party, Beach Goth Festival and more, as well as touring and performing alongside reputable acts such as Flight Facilities, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Sleepy Tom, Sweater Beats, Young Empires and many more.
The new LP Going Late was created with the help of Nik Kozub, featuring Grammy-winning producer Carlos De La Garza on track ‘Still About You’, as well as recruiting Vancouver-based hip-hop artist So Loki on vocals for the track ‘RUN’.
Humans twist and contort their way through innovation throughout Going Late, the band’s latest venture into innovative resonance. “Felony” is a groove-fuelled bouncing disco-esque danceable, lush vocals, driving bass pulsations, hard hitting synth work, concise beats and percussive textures push the limits to the ends of the Earth. The album’s title track “Going Late” clocking in at just over 10 minutes in length, is soulful escape; intimate vocals sit atop funk-inspired instrumentation, solid basslines and well crafted production techniques are the essence to this journey through neon-lit cityscapes, as “Years” arguably represents its polar opposite; immersive textures all drenched in ambient bliss before erupting into an engaging jungle style drum section. “Water Water” is an atmospheric, anthemic electro-pop body-moving, foot-tapping nod to minimal techno and house, glistening in kaleidoscopic auras and setting the tone for the rest of the album’s enthralling experience.
