Under Marti West Music, artist Marti West shared his latest single ‘Nobody Knows Me (Like You)’ on the 3rd of February, preceding his upcoming Talking To Strangers, scheduled for release on the 28th of April. Hailing from Tuscany, and based in London, the UK, singer-songwriter Marti, creates music comparable to the sound of Bon Iver, and The Tallest Man On Earth just to name a few.
Listening to ‘Nobody Knows Me (Like You)’, I am able to relate to the pain relayed in the lyrics and the moderate surrendering to the reality that a particular loved person is likely not coming back. When Marti sings: ‘Love in the city isn’t easy to find like the movies (like in the movies)’, it indicates a maturity about the affairs of the heart coupled with hope and the realisation that all things are possible. The following lyrics: ‘And I like to be on my own but I hate being lonely (I hate being lonely)’ is a testimony that the need humans have to possess and control other people overshadows the reality that what another person brings into your life, you are able to fulfil them for yourself.
Musician Marti elaborates on the subject matter of the news ingle: “Having lived in London for a little while now, I’m very aware how hard it is to meet someone you feel a connection with – especially in a big city. Fresh from a recent breakup, the song is basically about asking yourself, ‘did I make a mistake?’”
