Indie Rock N’ Rollers The Burma share serene single ‘Holiday’.

Irish indie-rock band The Burma have just dropped their latest single, ‘Holiday‘, on September 8th 2023, under The Burma Music Group. Garnering attention from prominent publications like Rolling Stone India, CLASH Magazine, NOTION Magazine, Hot Press, Atwood Magazine, and Medium.com/Pop Off, the trio has also been featured on RTÉ 2FM with Dan Hegarty and RTÉ Radio 1. Their new track debuted with support from EARMILK and is a highlight from their eagerly awaited album, Crazy Dreams & Cruel Realities.

‘Holiday‘ delivers a serene, uplifting melody paired with exceptional storytelling. The song’s vocals are gentle and mellow, mirroring the song’s calm and unhurried ambiance. It opens with gentle drumming, bubbling synth lines, and distinctive indie guitar sounds, flowing energetically yet smoothly, with a very pleasant chord progression. The lyrics are poignant and descriptive, touching on the monotony of life and the urge to escape during challenging times to a more pleasant environment in search of a clearer state-of-mind. The track also showcases a standout guitar solo, with the guitar featuring Tame Impala-inspired effects processing for a real gritty and compressed sound. It’s the ideal tune for leisurely summer afternoons and evening gatherings, one where you can sit back, tune out and just enjoy.

Speaking on ‘Holiday’, the band has this to say: “It’s a more laid back, feel good Summer tune and we wanted to try and capture that within the production. When we were in the middle of writing our second album, we were trying to narrow down what songs would make the Final Cut. Holiday was a stand out track and an easy choice for all of us, not just as an album pick but as our main single.”

The Burma will be launching their album ‘Crazy Dreams & Cruel Realities’, with a live performance on Sat 14th October at St. Lukes, Cork. Get tickets HERE.
