Based in France and England, fleabustiers are a musical collective who released their single ‘Inseparable Friends’ on 21 June off their debut album Time Can Wait which was released on 2 February 2024. The collective also released a sublime music video to accompany the single.
fleabustiers was conceived out of the creative constraints of the pandemic, and sees the collective use real-time collaboration tools to compose, arrange and produce music digitally. They decided to keep the momentum going after the pandemic, and have since shared more than four releases so far.
The collaboration has given the musicians fresh insight into understanding and appreciating cultural nuances. This has allowed them to enrich their music, as well as expand their creative horizons while drawing influence from notorious bands like Teenage Fanclub, Franz Ferdinand and XTC.
‘Inseparable Friends’ reflects on the struggle within each of us to balance the different facets and layers of our personalities. It’s a classic indie track that conjures up feelings of nostalgia and gratitude with enticing highs and lows. The guitar chords lay an alluring foundation for the heartfelt vocals and lyrics.
Songwriter Gilles shares; “’Inseparable Friends’ might initially seem to depict a toxic relationship, but it actually explores the internal conflict between the rational and creative sides of our personalities, ultimately serving as a plea to get the writer’s block under control and embrace creativity.”
