Belgian artist Juan El Grande released his debut EP DISCOVER NOW on August 1st 2024. Based in Spain, Juan has been inspired by music his entire life, and this debut offering showcases his skillset as a songwriter and storyteller. 

Juan stepped onto the scene in 2022 with his single ‘Father’, a heartwarming tribute to his own father. Mostly inspired by the music of his youth, he lists Peter Frampton, Pink Floyd and Slade as key influential figures. Describing himself as “a music lover through and through”, making music was “a logical consequence” that arose from his lifelong passion. 

The 5-track EP zooms in on Juan’s captivating lyrics, supported by gentle basslines and percussion. In each track, El Grande tells a unique story, drawing the listener in while striking an emotional chord. He uses the debut track to express his personal experiences, while demonstrating his imagination on ‘Another Hero’s Gone’, through a story about a Formula 1 driver who meets his fate. ‘Born To Be’ takes the position of a local bar songstress, and ‘Will 2 Play’ brings the listener back to Juan El Grande as he expresses his love of music and the desire to take his audience on a musical journey. The EP’s latest single, ‘Locked Inside’, dives into the realities of prison life by taking a humorous stance, which El Grande describes as his very own “Jailhouse Rock”.
