Larusta, the enigmatic force behind London’s rising dark alternative sensation Larusta & The Dead Dogs, finally unveiled his debut album, The Life You Save May Be Your Own, on November 15, 2024. Born in a small rural town in southern Germany, Larusta spent years navigating between places and musical projects before finally finding his artistic home in London. It was in this vibrant city that he experienced a career-defining shift, where he discovered both an engaged audience and the courage to release the album that had been years in the making. The Life You Save May Be Your Own is not only a reflection on personal struggles and resilience but also a symbol of artistic rebirth. Crafted during a period of solitude in the first lockdown, the album’s songs emerged from “persistent text ideas, images, or statements” that captured moments of personal reflection, evolving into emotionally charged tracks that speak to the human experience. “As it is my debut album, it is certainly a special one for me“, Larusta shares. “Thematically, each song can be seen as a representation of one or two of the five stages of grief. This wasn’t my intention when I started out writing these songs, but this happened naturally, which makes sense to me, in retrospect.”
