Seth Tabatznik, the London-raised, Western Cape-based folk artist, releases his new single ‘We Are Walking Home’ today via Moth Music. The track is the closing single ahead of his sophomore album Awakening Embers, set for February 20. Though he only started putting out music in 2024, Tabatznik has already crossed 200,000 streams and sold out his first live shows at Boschendal Estate in Cape Town and Green Note in Camden, London. Earlier releases Shining For Love and Choose To Be Alive landed coverage from CLASH Magazine and EARMILK. With Nick Mulvey mentoring him through the new record and Rainer Scheurenbrand as a longstanding guitar influence, Tabatznik is building a distinctive place in indie folk, in the same conversation as Paul Simon, Ian Anderson, and Vance Joy.

Rooted in both city and mountain life, his work blends acoustic folk with medicine music traditions like earthy, intentional songs that carry spiritual weight without preaching. We Are Walking Home starts quietly: a lone flute line gives way to Tabatznik’s warm, repetitive vocal refrain, supported by gradual layers of guitar, strings, and restrained percussion.

Seth Tabatznik shared: “I had this lyric in my head for months: “We are walking home, into the womb of the universe”. I didn’t know what to do with it. Then one day I was just fiddling around on the guitar and the whole song came to me in minutes and I couldn’t stop playing it, imagining African vibes to accompany Paul Simon‘s Graceland. This song is about the times of transformation we are in, the tipping point of all things; a time of chaos and destruction, but also of creativity and rebirth; of coming back into our hearts and remembering.
