tiny deaths release tantalising new song ‘Stop The Stars (Paper Tiger Remix)’

Los Angeles-based indie dream-pop duo tiny deaths have just shared their incredible new song ‘Stop The Stars (Paper Tiger Remix)‘ lifted from their Magic (The Remixes) EP that was released via Handwritten Records today. tiny deaths have already seen considerable media support, having been featured in The Guardian, Billboard, The 405, Stereogum, Earmilk, Clash Magazine and PopMatters, among others. They have graced the airwaves with radioplay on BBC Radio 1 with Huw Stephens, as well as US stations KEXP 90.3 FM, Radio K (KUOM), and The Current (KCMP), and have racked up over five million streams across all platforms. tiny deaths have shared the stage with Glass Animals, Matthew Dear, Sleigh Bells, Mr. Little Jeans, How to Dress Well and will play three dates alongside Pale Honey in October.

tiny deaths are made up of their vocalist Claire de Lune and producer Grant Cutler. Claire always knew that she was destined to immerse herself in the arts as she began to write songs at the tender age of five. Grant has a background in mixed media and art installations and is the architect of the band’s electronic elements.

In the Paper Tiger remix of ‘Stop The Stars’, we see the song enter into ambient territory with a strong driving bassline coming through at the halfway point, turning the track away from any expectations the listener may have had for it. The occasional chimes appear whenever it feels like the cadence of the song will escape the predetermined pace, providing a sense of structure not usually associated with the instrument. The song has masterfully been produced and will make your ears melt with joy as you are transported to another stratosphere.

Claire gives some insight into the remix:I was so excited to work with John (Paper Tiger), a Brooklyn based producer and member of the Minneapolis hip-hop collective Doomtree,  after years of crossing paths and almost but never quite finding a way to work together. I think John has a super unique ear and we were so excited to hear how he flipped “Stop the Stars,” one of our favourite songs from the album.” She goes on to explain the origins of the EP:This project has always lent itself to remixing and we’ve had a few unofficial remixes pop up over the years, so it only felt right to do an official remix EP. I reached out to some of my favourite producers I’ve encountered over the years to take a crack at the songs and was so happy with the results. Grant even remixed one of the songs himself! It’s really cool to breathe new life into a project that’s been out for a year, especially one we’re so proud of.
